Bennie Erven Owen of Bay City, Texas, passed away March 11, 2014, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 20 days. He was born November 21, 1936 in Iago, Texas, to the late Harvey Ray Owen and Myrtle Anne Prukop Owen. Bennie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a fourth generation farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Owen; daughter, Sarah Webster and husband Wade; sons, Troy Owen, Frankie Owen and fiancé Sandra Walsh, all of Bay City; sisters, Betty Grammer of Spring, TX and Virginia Smith of Yellow Pine, TX, and grandchildren, Ashton Owen, Austin Webster, Larissa Webster, Jaslyn Webster, Seith Owen and Gage Owen, Spencer and Hannah Walsh.
The family received friends and relatives from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Muntz officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Adam Hatfield, Michael Campbell, Taylor Roberts, Robert Davis, Jason Roe and Ty Alford.
