Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

– St. Francis of Assisi

This prayer was a favorite of Laurie Lynn Lubbers. Laurie was victorious over skin cancer in her early 30s and lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She lost a very short battle age 59 with cancer on Oct. 22, 2010. She never had an unkind word to say and was the most loving woman her family has ever known. We are certain that she is very proud that her son Nathan is involved with TX Trio, Fishing For A Cure and we know that she is honored to have been remembered in such a beautiful way during the 2011 tournament. Laurie lived her life to the fullest and loved to the fullest. She will be missed by her family always, but her memory lives on through each of us and we are thankful for all that this organization is doing for those who are suffering the devastation of cancer. Whether it beneficial donations, or memorial plaques, Fishing For A Cure is making a difference. When the darkness of cancer fades, light shines. When one is in despair, hope can be found in friends and family. When doubt takes over, faith lifts hearts. When sadness lessens, joy becomes measurable. Thank you TX Trio team for being an instrument of peace, love, faith, hope, light, and joy. May God bless your endeavors always.
