Leonard Herff Cornelius
August 19, 1926 - September 19, 2013
Inducted as Life Time Member on June 7, 2014
Leonard Herff Cornelius was born August 19, 1926 and was a lifelong rancher of Matagorda County and a true man of his word. He battled many cancers during his life and on September 19, 2013 he lost his final battle with lung cancer.
On behalf of his wife, Bettie Lou, his 8 children, Donna, Debbie, Bonnie, Melody, Amy, Herff, Brenda, and Connie,19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grands we are deeply honored for this recognition of our Dad and many of you knew him as, PaPa. We especially want to thank Travis, Shane, Dirk, Nathan, Cliff, and PaPa's grandson, Rick for working so hard to put on the Texas Trio Classic to "Fish for a Cure.”
PaPa was a family man, rancher, adventurous, honest, and most of all a very generous man. He believed in hard work and to always have the courage to do the right thing. The lesson to remember is that the Good Lord has given us everything we need in life - and it's up to us to use those God-given gifts to the best of our ability.
